The newest trend in hosiery is sticking the seam not at the back of the hosiery, but at the front. That’s fashion for you, it’s cyclical. Seams used to be at the back, then they disappeared altogether, now they’re at the front. Next season it will be all the rage to draw a nice clean line down the front of your face.
Cut off shorts and stockings are so in right now. How do I know? Well, Katie Holmes is wearing them, and much like her previous trend setting moves involving boyfriend jeans, Scientology and marrying rich older men, I know she’s on to a good thing. Be honest with yourselves, who amongst us wouldn’t marry the charismatic Tom Cruise and have his babies? Hmm?
There are men who like to wear all sorts of lingerie – panties, bras, camisoles, the list goes on. But for many it is the stocking that holds the dearest place in their heart. There is something about sliding that smooth silk or nylon over their legs and being encased in delicate fabric that really speaks to their psyche.
Oh stockings. How we love thee. How we love thy fragile mesh which extends to cover our legs. How we love thy reinforced toes (which makes sense), and thy reinforced gusset (which doesn’t, unlike feet, which commonly have sharp toenails attached to the end of them, your average crotch comes with no sharp edges.)
One of my super readers recently shared a link to this site which sells ActiveSkin hosiery for men. I took some time to browse around it and it is an interesting site indeed. The premise is that hosiery is for men as much as it is for women, and the designers of activeskin are simply making men’s hosiery.
Pushing the alliteration envelope right there, but that is, as they say ‘all good’. I’ve expressed this sentiment before, but I don’t think that it can really hurt to express it again: men look great in stockings.
Because men tend to carry their weight differently from women i.e, in their bellies rather than their ass, thighs and abdomen, they tend to have great legs. This applies especially to men on the taller side, but almost any man looks great in a pair of tights, stockings or pantyhose.
